Hello
I am a native Ohioan, born and raised in a small suburb right outside of Cleveland. I have two younger brothers, Ryan and Drew, who are fraternal twins, and a trio of cats named Woody, Scooter, and Cheena. I attended Olmsted Falls High School, and was an active member of the swim team. Swimming, along with reading and creative writing, are some of my primary hobbies.
My passion to study English developed in high school, where I took every language and literature course available. When I initially started at UC, I studied English Literary and Cultural Studies, but after learning about the RPW program, I knew it was the right fit for me. Through this program, I had the opportunity to grow my writing and editing skills, as well as discover a new skill set related to website and document design.
Aside from my immense passion for being a Bearcat, I am passionate about different cultures. I enjoy learning about the diverse traditions of different countries and the various languages used around the world. This passion led me to travel abroad twice during my time at UC; the first being to Paris, France, and the second time to Ireland, where I stayed in the major cities of Cork, Limerick, and Dublin.
In addition to studying abroad, I filled my spare time at UC by being involved in a number of extracurricular organizations. I was involved with the University Honors Program, Phi Mu Fraternity, Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society, and was a university tour guide. Through my interest in serving the community, I volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and was a volunteer ACT tutor at local high schools. Additionally, I served on the executive board for groups such as TedXUC, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Week of Women committee.
Aside from my coursework, I gained invaluable experience through my internship with the University of Cincinnati Foundation (UCF). From May 2017 to April 2018, I worked as UCF's campaign intern with the Campaign and Advancement Services department. During my internship, I was responsible for database management, prospect research, campaign correspondence to donors, and preparation of materials for Board of Trustees meetings.
In the coming year, I hope to find employment at a higher education institution or with a non-profit organization. In the near future, I plan on attending graduate school to pursue a degree in Higher Education Administration.
